"Your shop was recommended, but how do I know you will repair my car to my standards (I'm very fussy and paid a lot for my vehicle)?" Check us out a little further by calling the service managers of Acura of Bellevue, BMW of Bellevue, Lexus of Bellevue or Nissan of Bellevue. They know us and our work very well (we have been repairing cars for their fussy customers sucessfully for many years). "Why is it taking so long to fix my car? It only had a dent in the fender." To repair even the smallest dent (except when painting is not necessary) requires the same amount of disassembly and reassembly time, the same drying time between the primer, paint & clearcoat stages & the same amount of bake time as a bigger dent or multiple panel repair might take. Saving time by masking trim, rushing the drying time between primer, paint and clearcoat or rushing the bake cycle is an invitation to paint problems and possibly a redo situation later down the road. "Does your paint hold up as well as the factory paint?"
Yes, but let's qualify that by stating a few paint facts and falacies: First, all paint will crack and chip if hit with enough force. If the truck in front of you kicks up a rock, it probably will chip your hood. Even if the rock is as tiny as a sand granule, it can chip your paint. Good chip resistance is determined more by the strength of adhesion between the metal and the primer and the primer and the paint than by the composition of the paint itself. High quality paint will probably be more durableresist fading, dulling & flakingbut it may not be more chip resistant. Using a high quality (read more expensive) epoxy primer and urethane paint system helps ensure adhesion and therefore is less prone to chipping.
Note: Some composite ("plastic") bumpers have been a painting challenge. They require different preparation & painting materials. Also, when flexed past a certain point, the paint on them will fracture. We continually receive factory update bulletins and follow their procedures.
